Ease and Speed of Construction

Compared to current methods, an equivalent Terrapave road can be created in days, not weeks or months. Construction of 2Km of road per day is easily achieveable and the road can usually be driven on in the same day, reducing inconvenience to drivers to a minimum.

Creating a TerraPave road uses standard construction equipment such as a grader with ripping tines, water truck with pressurised spray bar, Pneumatic Tyre roller and Heavyduty Steel drum roller. Contractors can become competent to use our product with very little training.

An unsealed road can be converted to a contiguous slab that is almost as hard as concrete and does not require the application of asphalt or chip seal as a wearing course. Products can be supplied in clear or black according to the desired finish and lines can be marked with the usual process.

An option is to use a cold reclaimer such as a Wirtgen or Bomag. The advantage of this machine is that it is more precise in applying the exact amount of the TerraPave product into the soil to produce the optimum result. A reclaimer is used especially when a damaged asphalt road needs to be reconstructed. In this case the black product is used and the finish looks the same as asphalt. The process is quick and efficient – again, as much as 2km per day.

There is no need (in most circumstances) to build up the road with new material. TerraPave will recycle the existing asphalt and base course to create a slab which acts as both a base and wearing course that will last years, even decades, with only minimal maintenance.
